This site provides safety and health information for young workers and their parents, employers, and educators. Details about workers’ rights, links to training, information about state youth employment laws, and other educational tools can also be found here. A professional, such as a counselor at a high school, trade or vocational school, college, or career training center, can help in selecting an appropriate assessment, interpreting the results, and providing career counseling. Career counseling courses have untapped potential in training counselors to address the cultural context of career development and well-being. Students may learn counseling, guidance, advocacy, and intervention skills that address the contextual and structural layers of career development, producing change agents who impact clients’ lives, our profession, and our social structure. A reorientation of career services was aided greatly by the promotion of the leadership of career services to the level of vice provost and membership in the provost’s cabinet.
